Esteban Perroud was born in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires, Argentina on August 10th, 1984. In 2002, he studied Electro- acoustic Composition of Music at the National University of Quilmes. In 2009 Perroud finished his studies as Cinematographer at the Universidad del Cine (FUC).
In 2006 he worked as a soundman for TV Channel 13 Polka, on Desperate Housewives. The same year he traveled to Bogota Colombia and worked on RCN Teleset Channel for the reality show Dancing for a Dream and X Factor.
In 2007 Perroud worked as a soundman on Extraordinary Stories, by Mariano Llinas, which won the award for Best Screenplay at the International Independent Film Festival of Buenos Aires (BAFICI 2009). In commercials, he worked with DOPs like Mike Molloy (Stanley Kubricks’ Cameraman) and John Inwood (Scrubs tv show, NBC).
In 2009 he worked as Cinematographer on the documentary The Ways of Wine, the story of Nicolas Carreras. This documentary received the award of Best Film at the International Festival of Mar del Plata by the International Press, (FIPRESI) and was shown in the Culinary Cinema section at the Berlin Festival in 2011, San Sebastian Film Festival and Napa Valley Film Festival.
Perroud is currently Cinematographer for the full-length documentary Murals as Voice, an ambitious project involving several countries. Shooting has already taken place in Buenos Aires, New York, Liberia, South Africa, Belfast, Israel and Palestina.
In 2007 Perroud joined the film production company Subterranea Films specializing in Documentary Films, where he serves as Director in the areas of Cinematography and Post-production.
During th this last ten years he has worked on more than 15 full-length movies and 30 shortfilms.
